Canon Background: Orihime is from the manga Bleach. She's a high school student who develops spiritual powers thanks to her proximity to a Shinigami, her classmate Ichigo Kurosaki. Orihime started out a largely peripheral character (the pretty girl who may or may not have a crush on Ichigo), but gradually became more and more important to the story, especially as her powers grew. She accompanied Ichigo, along with several other classmates with spiritual powers, to Soul Society to rescue a mutual friend. Since their return she's remained a strong ally of Ichigo's.

AU Backstory: Orihime is a first-year student at Alternate University, and right now she has no idea what she wants to major in because there are just too many choices. She's at AU on an academic scholarship thanks to her good grades and test scores in high school, so she's going to have to work hard to keep her college GPA up. Orihime was raised by her older brother; he died in a car accident not long ago, and thus she's on her own now. Despite all the stress in her life this year, though, Orihime tries hard to be optimistic and is looking forward to meeting new people at the university.

And the username? In mythology, Orihime is the goddess of the star Vega.

Appearance: Orihime is short and slender, but rather exceptionally well-endowed. She has orange-red hair that she almost always wears long and straight, brown eyes, and a penchant for wearing pink despite the fact it doesn't match her hair in the slightest. Unfortunate color choices aside, she enjoys fashion and particularly likes long skirts, sandals (even when it's better she wear real shoes), and Chinese-inspired designs.
